What Is the SAP SKAT Table?

SAP SKAT Table stores language-dependent general ledger account descriptions at the chart of accounts level. It contains short and long text maintained for each G/L account in multiple language.

In SAP, same G/L account can have different descriptions based on the language in which text is maintained. The language key in SKAT is used to differentiate the description maintained for each language.

For example: If a G/L account has descriptions maintained in both English (EN) and German (DE), when the user logon to the SAP in German, the system display the corresponding German G/L description as per the text maintained for that account.

SAP Consultants & users use SKAT table to retrieve G/L account descriptions, display account names in reports, troubleshoot missing or incorrect language dependent text.
