What Is the SAP MARD Table?
SAP MARD Table contains storage location level material data in SAP. A material can be maintained in multiple storage locations within a plant, with separate information for each storage location.
MARD contains information such as material number, plant, storage location, and stock quantity fields such as unrestricted use stock, quality inspection stock and blocked stock.
Material Master Information is maintained in several tables, including
- MARA: General Material Data.
- MAKT: Material Descriptions
- MARC: Plant-Specific Material Data
- MBEW: Material Valuation Data
- MARD: Storage location level material data.
For example:
Material RM100 is maintained in plant 1010, under storage location SL01 and SL02. The storage location SL01 has 100 pieces of unrestricted use stock, while storage location SL02 has 50 pieces. The stock can be reviewed separately for each storage location.
SAP S/4HANA note: Stock quantity storage and calculation have changed in S/4HANA. MARD table remains available for storage location level material data, but stock quantities are accessed through the inventory management data model.
